Purpose:
Export text from Paper Space to Excel

Note: Export the text present in layouts (Paper Space) into an Excel table
Processing mode: Works on the active DWG (one file at a time).

This module extracts all visible text in your layouts (Paper Space tabs): MTEXT, single-line text, annotations, legal notices, titles, etc.
The result is exported to Excel for review, correction, archiving, or client approval.
It’s ideal for preparing an as-built dossier (DOE), a contractual archiving package, or a proofreading pass.

  1. Traverse Paper Spaces

    The software loops through all layouts (all Paper Space tabs) of the current DWG.
    It analyzes each layout to detect visible text content.

  2. Collect text objects

    All text objects (TEXT, MTEXT, etc.) are collected:
    content, location, and more.

    The textual content of layouts is listed block by block.

  3. Prepare data for Excel

    For each detected text, the table gathers:

    • the text itself (content),
    • the layer,
    • the text style used,
    • the layout / page setup it comes from.
    This detailed list is then sent to Excel.

  4. Export to Excel for review

    The Excel file is generated automatically.
    You can use it to:

    • check spelling,
    • validate legal / safety / standards wording,
    • archive the exact state of plan text at a given date,
    • re-import your changes into the DWG.
