Purpose: Open the document to edit title block information (revisions, sheets, layouts, etc.)

Note: Open the document to edit revisions, following the PLS-AppliCAD template.

This tool lets you bulk-edit the title blocks of a DWG (references, revisions, sheets, client info, etc.), generate or update layouts, and automatically apply consistent tagging across the entire set.

  1. Column “Title blocks”

This list contains all title-block blocks detected in the DWG (Model Space and optionally Paper Space).
Check one or more items to indicate which title blocks will be read/written.

List of title blocks detected in the DWG, with checkboxes
Select which title blocks will be affected by your edits.
  2. “Check” / “Uncheck” buttons

Selects or deselects the entire list in one click. Ideal before a global process (numbering, revisions, creating layouts…).

Check / Uncheck all title blocks
Quick selection of all sheets/title blocks.
  3. General read/write principle

As soon as you edit a field, the value is written to the corresponding attribute of each checked title block.
On load, the fields are filled by reading the DWG’s attributes.

Input fields linked to title block attributes
Bi-directional update between fields and the DWG.
  4. Multiple values (“*”)

If several checked title blocks have different values for the same field, the field displays “*”. If you type a value instead of “*”, it will replace all differing values in the checked title blocks.

    Asterisk * indicating multiple values
The “*” symbol indicates heterogeneous values.
  5. Cell colors

White cells are editable and will be written back to the DWG.
Greyed-out cells are locked (no corresponding attribute found in the DWG).

White editable cells and grey locked cells
White = editable. Grey = no associated DWG attribute.
  6. “Tagging” area (bottom of the tab)

Each checkbox corresponds to an automated action. Actions are only executed when you click “Run”.

Tagging area with checkboxes and Run button
Queue up several operations, then run them at once.
  7. Update last revision on sheet

Analyzes the A…L history, retrieves the last actual revision used, and writes it to the INDICE field of all checked sheets.

Function Update last revision on sheet
Synchronizes the actual revision used in the project.
  8. Number sheets

Assigns a sequential sheet number (1, 2, 3, …) to each title block, according to the list order. Handy for cleanly renumbering a set.

    Function Number sheets, automatic numbering
    Automatic sheet numbering.
  9. Populate summaries

Searches for the summary block provided by the software and fills it automatically.
The summary block is supplied in the model DWG.

Insert and fill the summary block
    Project summary filled automatically.
  10. Count sheets

Analyzes the total number of sheets present in the DWG’s Model Space and fills the “Nbre Folios” field.

    Automatic sheet count
    Automatic sheet counting.
  11. Determine “next sheet” value

For each sheet, finds the tag of the next sheet and fills the corresponding field (“Next sheet”).

Detect next sheet and fill automatically
Logical chaining sheet → next sheet.
  12. Today’s date

Automatically fills today’s date (format 01/01/25) across all checked sheets.

    Automatically fill today’s date
Update the date on all drawings at once.
  13. Update layouts

Automatically creates layouts from blocks in Model Space (not Paper Space).
The software imports a preconfigured layout (landscape or portrait) for each block, zooms and fits according to the percentage set in “Settings”, then moves to the next sheet.
    Result: layouts are recreated automatically.

    Automatic creation of layouts
Automatic layout generation for each sheet.
  14. Import info from another DWG

Opens a reference DWG, reads its title blocks, and offers to copy the values directly into your title blocks.

Import information from a reference DWG
Retrieve info from a master DWG.
  15. Increment to the next revision

Launches the revision-change assistant: a window opens to set the new revision,
then applies this new revision to all title blocks.

Revision change assistant across all title blocks
Apply a new revision to the entire set.
  16. “Revision index” grid

12 rows (A → L) with columns: Index, Date, Description, Drawn by,
Checked by, Approved by. Editing a cell updates the associated attributes of the checked title block.

Revision index grid A to L
    Structured management of revisions A → L.
  17. Keyboard shortcuts in the grid

    Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V / Ctrl+X to copy / paste / cut,
Del to clear a cell’s value,
    Ctrl+A to select all.
Perfect for quickly updating multiple rows.

Using keyboard shortcuts in the revision grid
Fast editing with standard Windows shortcuts.
  18. Single-selection mode

If enabled: checking one title block automatically unchecks all others.
Very useful to validate sheet by sheet, since you see read/write in real time.

Single-selection mode for one title block at a time
    Sheet-by-sheet control.
  19. “Settings” tab – Drawing blocks

Displays the list of blocks and their attributes in a tree view.
The “Value” column corresponds to the fields you can fill in “Project Info”.

Settings tab with list of blocks and attributes
Tree view of the DWG’s blocks.
  20. Drag-and-drop an attribute

Drag an attribute to the mapping table.
The software will then know what to update automatically when you edit a field.

Drag an attribute to the mapping table
Associate a DWG attribute to a business field without coding.
  21. “Blocks” table

Lists the blocks that will be modified. Blocks not in this list will not be modified and are not considered title blocks.

Table listing the blocks that will be modified
Only the blocks listed here will be edited.
  22. “Save” button (Settings)

Saves your mappings. These settings will be reloaded automatically
when the form opens. Do it once.

    Save button for Settings mappings
Your mappings are remembered for future sessions.
  23. Options → Layout percentage

Defines the framing used when automatically creating layouts.
Example: 98% leaves a small margin around the title block.

    Zoom percentage setting for layouts
    Control zoom/margin when generating layouts.
  24. Field consistency & DWG save

    • If a field is greyed out: the corresponding attribute doesn’t exist in the checked title blocks.
You can enable it by adding the correct attribute mapping in the “Settings” tab.
    • When closing the form: if any modifications were written to attributes, the tool prompts you to save the DWG.
Declining the save will discard unsaved changes.
